ASCSD. Abu Salim Central Security Directorate
Awlad Abu Hmeira. One of the most important tribes in Zawiya. It has controlled the refinery in Zawiya since the 2011 revolution. It is allied with the Shuhada al-Nasr Brigade, a powerful militia in Zawiya. It is also allied with the local Petroleum Facility Guard, under the command of Muhammad Kashlaf (aka al-Qasseb).

Zawiya. Located on the coast road west of Tripoli about one hour away, Zawiya is one of Libya's larget cities with a population of around 250,000. It houses one of western Libya's most important oil facilities, the Zawiya Oil Refinery Company. An large port in Zawiya provides transport of oil to overseas markets and import of goods. Zawiya is controlled by several different competing militias.
